On Sunday, March 09, I had two significant life events:

  • 17 years of living abroad. I remember that night at the airport as if it was yesterday, watching my family saying goodbye. It's a moment I'll never forget.
  • The last day of my cancer treatment. I took the last prescription medication, and now I fully consider myself a cancer survivor. I feel so blessed.

I wanted to share this with you because life is full of situations we don't understand. It's hard to think of possibilities when you are in the midst of it all.

Leaving home to move to another country alone with no connections was extremely difficult. Taking a medication that had many side effects for 5 years and led to other health issues made me question life many times.

But I prefer to look on the bright side.

Moving abroad taught me that growth happens with discomfort and determination.

Dealing with cancer taught me that my health must be a priority, not my job.

No matter what you are dealing with now, I hope one day you'll be able to look back and see the bright side too.

๐Ÿ’ก Craft a LinkedIn About Section That Will Captivate Recruiters

Your LinkedIn About section isnโ€™t just another part of your profile; itโ€™s your story, your personal brand in action. Yet, crafting a compelling summary that captures your unique value can feel daunting. You're in good company if youโ€™ve ever struggled to balance professionalism and personality.

The About section is your chance to go beyond your resume and write a few paragraphs that give recruiters and hiring managers a better idea of who you are and what you can do for them.

Here are a few tips to help you get started:

๐ŸŸฃ Hook Them Early: Your opening lines are your first impression. Start with a bold statement highlighting your unique strengths and drawing the reader in.

๐ŸŸฃ Be Authentic: Write in the first person and let your true self shine. A genuine, conversational tone builds trust and sets you apart.

๐ŸŸฃ Break It Up: Use bold subheadings and short paragraphs to make your summary easy to scan. Structure your narrative with sections like โ€œWhat I Bring to the Tableโ€ or โ€œMy Professional Journey.โ€

๐ŸŸฃ Optimize with Keywords: Seamlessly integrate industry-specific keywords to boost your visibility in recruiter searches.

๐ŸŸฃ Keep It Focused: Stay on track by highlighting key achievements and skills that align with your career goals and add a personal touch that resonates with your audience.

These tips are just the beginning. Are you ready to dive deeper into crafting a LinkedIn About section that reflects your professional story and helps you stand out?
